The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is experiencing technical difficulties with its online facilities. Since this morning, all of the department’s websites including the public website and agent portals have not been accessible.
This comes following a similar incident late last year where taxpayers and tax agents were unable to access vital services online for almost a week. We understand that today’s incident is related to the same hardware failure experienced in December 2016.
The ATO has advised that no taxpayer information has been lost or compromised as a result of the failure.
No indication has been provided as to when the systems will be up and running again. We will however continue to monitor the websites and we will keep you updated with any changes.
